Congrats Nagy! And thanks for the games we’ve had. The one of your talents I admire most is the one you share with Ray: never a single time out! I’ve had hundreds of them and every time I promise myself “never again” but I found no cure to my undecidedness yet.

Let me just list a few LG senior celebrities: 1001 (who is he/she? Does he/she exist?) 1002 Richard Malaschitz 1053 Hjallti 1224 Nagy Fathy 1316 Ed Collins 1373 Klaashaas 1607 David Bush (wondering where he is?) 1728 ypercube 1927 Bill LeBoeuf 1935 Crelo If your player ID number is lower than 2000, and are still kicking around at LG, write to Richard, mentioning that you deserve receiving a gold medal. :)

I have a relatively low player ID (3333, registered 2003-08-02), but I didn’t start my first game on LG until nearly eight years later, 2011-07-10. Is there a prize or medal for longest join-to-play gap?

@Ignatius J. Reilly: 1000 – 1999: gold medal 2000 – 2999: silver medal 3000 – 3999: bronze medal 3000 – 3999, but inactive for a long time: Let LG members vote. Should someone cast the first stone (Ooops, I mean “first vote”?) :) @MRFvR: Thank you. Glad that David is still around. In 2003, he was already a giant in Hex. Herb Doughty introduced me to LG site. I wrote to invite him for a game, fully expecting him to turn me down. But the giant generously accepted my request. So I was thinking to myself: Gee, LG people are nice. Ever since, I have stayed with LG. For a while, LG did not have Hex19 board available yet. So, David and I would occasionally play at another website (whose name I forgot). One day, he invited me to join the US team for a self-organized worldwide tournament at LG, I felt immensely honored, and joined. During that tournament, I had the opportunity to play against those unbelievably strong Polish players, such as Leoni. Had lots of fun, good old times....

Wow, Elisa, perhaps the strongest LG female Go player?and Kim Basinger (15?). This is interesting. Who can explain this? I definitely will not mind seeing a photo of this beautiful player. and what are you doing at this wee Greek hour, ypercube? (unless you are not physically in Greece)

I copied this from the D&B EOW – UT page: 4 gold medals: shinnosuke (1197), Robert Butler (1274), ypercube (), The Tible (1925) If you take a tournament subscrioption page the participants are in order of plaerid (which is easy for me, because only Richard and someone else, I don’t remember who, jump in front of me.) Maybe if someone browses through kpato EOW UT’s you might find a lot more

@ Being at 1009 was pretty lonely at that time, wasn’t it? Imagine that bachkiesel only had 8 players to play with in the entire LG kingdom. @ All these messages, however, did not explain why a player’s ID number stands out as 15. Perhaps because she/he is a movie star? :) @ And who is 1001? I am dying to know.

@Eduard, Did you notice that quite a few strong Go players, including you, have stopped playing Go games at LG? @ LG is the best boardgame website in the world, indeed. It can change to “PERFECT” from “the best” if Richard is willing to spend some time in assigning those 3 Go board sizes with their own individual ratings. Richard must understand that Go19 players, in general, are very serious players. (I am sure that some players have already raised this issue in the past)

My guess is that 1001 is a test user that Richard used in the early days. At the moment, player id (pid) 1001 is not used. Id’s 1, 6 to 25 are used at the moment. At some point (pid 27), he decided to start the pids with 1000. I guess...

Game 14 is the lowest-numbered game in which Richard played: go9.mc.2002.mar.1.1 Game 4211 is the lowest-numbered game I found in which Nagy played. It lists "Start time: 2002-07-17 16:30 Finish time: 2002-07-18 07:07" but maybe it actually started earlier.

Just like Nagy, I’ve been active on littlegolem the full ten years. Due to the combination of poor time management and waaay too many concurrent games, I did lose a few games because of a timeout. When I joined LG, I was an Othello player. bela nagy introduced me to Go and slowly my interest moved from Othello to Go (Tim Shih's patience with me did help that process). Lots of things changed in the last 10 years, but my love for board games didn’t. Thanks all!
