Hex and DVONN boards are not displaying
  • Tommah at 2015-03-01

This bug is back… it appears to have started a few hours ago.

  • Art Duval at 2015-03-01

For me, too, on both Mac/Safari and iOS.

  • Art Duval at 2015-03-01

Remember the trick you can do to still move in this situation:1. Use the link to “Analyze game on www.trmph.com”, which does still work.2. Figure out your move on trmph, and note its position (e.g., a3).3. Two options for next step:     a. hover mouse over invisible board, watching the message at the bottom of the screen (at least on my browser), e.g., “…move=ac”, until it says the right thing; or

        b. hover mouse over invisible board, and click on any spot, then in the URL box, change the “move=xx” part, replacing “xx” by what you really want your move to be.

    4. Once the URL box says what you want it to, you can click the send move box.

On the other hand, if this doesn't work, I don't accept any responsibility.  Don't try this unless you are very confident what you are doing, and know how it is working.

Twixt too, Chrome or Firefox, Windows 7 or Linux Mint Debian.

  • mouchet patrick at 2015-03-01

    I've the problem too.

  • mtbikesman at 2015-03-01

Glad to hear everyone else is having problems.

I thought I had gone blind.

  • Allan Mertner at 2015-03-02

Still a problem here  too, can't move in Dvonn…

  • __yeye__ at 2015-03-02

Art Duval, thx for your tirck.

But is h13 on trmph equivalent to hm on littlegolem ? Or what else ?

    G

  • __yeye__ at 2015-03-02

    Forget my question.

It is indeed equivalent, I tested it and it is written just before the “send move” button :)

  • Rex Moore at 2015-03-02

There's no fix for Dvonn, however. It isn't implemented on TRMPH.

  • morphles at 2015-03-02

I hope we can get time back for being unable to move and getting to vacation is not cool:)

  • Rolle at 2015-03-02

yes, I have problem with my dvonn game too

  • michelwav at 2015-03-02

morphles, you can play as Art Duval explained us : that works rather well (at least with windows 8)  if we are careful.

I think 20 or 30 days vacations are reinstated too many times every year and some games become very slow and boring for this reason.

  • Rex Moore at 2015-03-02

michelwav, we cannot play as Art explained for Dvonn. We have no way of playing our moves.

  • michelwav at 2015-03-03

Rex Moore, I am sorry : I just see you already wrote that in your former message. Of course, during the breakdown, dvonn players should not lose by timeout and, after it, they should get back the lost days.

  • Russ Williams at 2015-03-03

Does anyone know if these board display problems are being explored / fixed?

  • FingerPuppetsPullToy at 2015-03-04

my dvonn games are a  nogo..waaaaahhh

  • ypercube at 2015-03-04

    What problem?

Tempted to setup a new Dvonn tournament. Anyone for Blindfold Dvonn?

  • Carroll at 2015-03-04

Yes should I put a bit of tape on my screen to mask the list of moves? Too easy otherwise!

  • Orbilin at 2015-03-04

    @hypercube @Carroll

    LOL 8P

    Let's get crazy! Schachnovelle

  • Rex Moore at 2015-03-04

And…. there goes my first vacation day. BOOM!

  • ypercube at 2015-03-04

    Blindfold Dvonn tournamanet

Start tomorrow, 5th of March 2015. Don't miss it.

  • elroy at 2015-03-04

So this is a problem for Twixt also. Is there any sign of a solution moving forward? Has Richard made any comment?

  • Carroll at 2015-03-05

A bitbucket bug report has been created but not yet assigned.

Usually Richard is in ski holidays at this time…

  • David J Bush ★ at 2015-03-07

While he's patching this bug, I hope he can fix it so that it doesn't occur in the future.

  • Strange Yeah at 2015-03-07

Has anyone heard anything from Richard? Does he know that there's a problem?

  • jazzy1 at 2015-03-08

What is the complete url / REST call to submit a move?

  • Wolfpack at 2015-03-08

Would have to recommend alpha & beta display softwares

  • THE BIG HURT at 2015-03-09

how are people playing games and making moves when you can't see the board?

  • Jos Dekker at 2015-03-09

Art Duval describes it at the start of this topic.

I've made quite some moves since then; it works. Thanks Art!

But, I hope this is not lasting much longer.

  • Jos Dekker at 2015-03-09

The get-around counts for Hex of course.

I don't know anything about the other games with the same problem.

  • David J Bush ★ at 2015-03-09

The trick does not work on Chrome for me, but it does with Firefox. BIG HURT, please message me if you have any difficulty.

  • Tommah at 2015-03-09

    The images are back!

  • __yeye__ at 2015-03-10

    That's great !

    Congrats guys !

  • Michael Reitz at 2015-03-10

Good to have the images back, but how do I get the lost vacation days back?

  • slaapgraag at 2015-03-11

    I resigned 2 twixt-games :-(

  • mtbikesman at 2015-03-11

The boards are showing!  I can see!  I can see!  Praise the Lord, I can see again!
