Reply to this topic Return to forumIn the one year since the game was added to LittleGolem 114 people
have played 1622 games of ConHex in 113 tournaments.
I want to thank Richard again for implementing it here. My special respect and gratitude
go to those of you who have meanwhile achieved a remarkable level of mastership, so that
it is hard for me to keep up with them. Honestly said: some of you are already better
than me in the game I originally invented. This is not a compliment for me as a player :-( ,
but what counts is: to see how ConHex is accepted by bright minds who feel at home with
classics like Go, Hex, Twixt, Amazons etc. etc.
Thank you all for giving ConHex a try. I hope more people will learn to enjoy it in the
years to come. Keep playing!
Ludohex
(Michail Antonow)
A really, really nice game!
Nevertheless, the size of the board is not serious, the game could be far, far, far more interesting if it was played on something like 7x7 instead of 5x5.
I knew the game before I played it here and of course I am a fan as well :-)
Maybe we should give 7x7 a try!
Back in 2005, I had the honour to publish ConHex in my little 3-Hirn company.
It was a great success on the Games Fair in Essen 2005, and Michail Antonow was able to convince the big company by Ludwig Gerhards to publish a noble version of the game, with a very nice wooden board.
Gerhards was so kind to make a special large board for my group. We used it at the CEBIT 2007 fair, and in the long night of science in Jena:

In the second last photo of the CEBIT report you see Michail Antonow walking through a storm.

On the 7x7 proposal: I want to second that. Having in mind the high level of play here on LittleGolem, it would definitely make sense.

We have the photo option here in the forum, so watch:
Michail Antonov vs the ConHex bot of Joerg Guenther (sitting on the right).

maybe move
the corner corner circles
to the centre of the corners (now call it the corner centre circle)
in the same style as the centre centre circle
(less instructions to draw it)
I've always been open for more variations if it brings something extra. It might be interesting to play larger. Sometimes I think this board is to small (mostly I like the fast game as it is).
I am also interested having a bigger board for conhex as well.
The game is beautiful as it is, but a bigger board would bring a nice variation, I think.
