  • Patrick Moore at 2003-08-04

    i have heard before that you can win a game of chess in just 4 moves, if this is true can someone please tell me how?

    1. g4 d5 2. f3 Qh4#

  • Andres Villasante at 2003-11-06

    1. f3 e5 2.Kf2 h5 3. Kg3 h4+ 4. Kg4 d6++ Mate.

  • pitirre at 2003-11-10

    1. h4 e5

    2. h5 d5

    3. h6 g8xh6

    4. a4 rinden (resign)

    by this time (the 4rth move) the black player will notice your stupidity (white player) and will grant you the victory.

    (if the black player continues to play, then he must be stupid)

    WHITE Black

    1. d4 Nf3

    2. Nd2 e5

    3. PxP Ng4

    4. h3 Ne3!!!

    0/1

    Instead of retreating the Knight hurls himself into the enemy camp with an attack on the Queen. White resigns, as capturing the Knight would be answered by 5 … Qh4ch, forcing mate.

    With only 1 black piece in action:

    1.e3 Nc6

    2.Ne2 Nb4

    3.c3 Nd3++

    Instead of moving the Queen hurls himself into the enemy camp by a tactical mistake moving his King to Ke7. Black is mate.

    1.e4 e5

    2.Qh5 Ke7??

    3.Qxe5++

    Andrv

    Some say the loosing player has to be helping (by doing exactly the right wrong moves), but I know someone who lost in such a way without noticing it in a tournament!

    This one actually happened in a tournament in the 1800s. At the time, the rule was if you touch a piece and can't move it, you must move your King. So the game went 1. e4 d5 2.ed Qxd5 and then white meant to play 3.Nc3, a standard move in the Scandinavian Defense, but white accidently touched his Queen's bishop, so as per the rule of that time era, he had to play 3.Ke2?? to which black of course, replied 3…Qe4 checkmate. The touchmove rule has of course, been ammended since then, probably because of this example.
