new...Einstein 7 point, double RR tournament begins Jan 1
  • Ray Garrison at 2009-12-23

    Have fun!

    7 point einstein marathon tournament

  • Jonny at 2009-12-23

    woww, cool, thanks :-))

  • Ray Garrison at 2009-12-31

Tournament begins soon! One day left to register. 26 players are currently in the tournament...

  • Jonny at 2010-01-01

hi, is this a rated Tournament?

  • Gregorlo at 2010-01-01

follow the link and check it :)

  • Ray Garrison at 2010-01-01

Yes, it is rated (tournament begins today)

  • Jonny at 2010-01-02

hm, one player resign all his games and no points are came und go. why?

  • antony at 2010-01-02

because resigning before your 1st move does not affect any rating.

  • Johannes Waldmann at 2010-01-02

That one player would be me? I was not aware that I signed up
for this tournament. Perhaps I misclicked, or there’s some bug in the system.
Resigning early keeps the ratings unchanged, so I thought that’s the easiest way
to fix this, without inconveniencing the other players too much.
    Best regards – J.W.

  • Jonny at 2010-01-02

fine, thanks for the information. hope we all have fun in the tournament.

  • Ray Garrison at 2010-12-01

This tournament started on January 1. We just finished the first round! (11 months exactly!) Round two began today (Dec. 1) My game with Roy78 was the last game to finish, 203 moves... There were several games that lasted more than that. The record is 252 moves!! (Nagy Fathy beat CleverHunk)

  • somar96 at 2010-12-01

Are you going to make one this year as well? ;)

  • idiot at 2010-12-02

I want to set up a new tournament, yes, but I am not currently a member. I plan to rejoin in January, and I will set one up after Jan. 1.

  • Aganju at 2010-12-02

If you want, I can set it up for you. What title do you want? Limits? black hole or not? If you want a password, message me directly.

  • Ray Garrison at 2010-12-02

Thank you Aganju and idiot for offering to set up a new one! I too am not a member right now, so I can’t set it up. So Aganju, that would be great if you could set up a new one! I think a good one to set up would be the same as it was set up last year (normal variation, 7 game match, ideally starting on January 1 again!, no password) Thanks...Of course, you may set it up any way you like...Or maybe you could set up two (a normal and a black hole marathon!)

  • Ray Garrison at 2010-12-02

oh yes, a marathon is not a marathon unless it is double round robin :)

  • Aganju at 2010-12-02

looks like black hole is not an add-on option to 7-points, but instead. I set both up anyway, if not many people subscribe, I can always cancel it.

  • Aganju at 2010-12-02

why are so many intense players not members? Do you think the price is to high? Or is it to cumbersome?
I think this is the cheapest fun you can buy, I play 4-6 hours a day * 365 days for ~25$, that’s only 1.4 cent per hour of play!?
Or you could see it as 7 cents per day all-you-can-play! ;-)

  • Aganju at 2010-12-02

Although I would really like to get informed when membership runs out. Mine is about to expire, but I don’t know when exactly. Will I not be able to modify my own tournaments any more? And have -10 days of vacation suddenly?

  • Carroll at 2010-12-02

Everything will come back to normal once you renew...

Maybe Richard would even accept a paypal transfer before it expires? ;-)

  • somar96 at 2010-12-02

I see no difference betwwen those 2, am I mistaken?

  • Aganju at 2010-12-02

Looks like I copied the same link twice :-(

    Here the proper links:
    7-Point
    Black Hole

  • Ray Garrison at 2010-12-03

Remarkable... blardragon didn’t get a single simulated win (0 rather than 0.00%, while is is clearly still possible he even wins with the maximum...

  • MRFvR at 2011-05-25

Not only he is the lower rating but he’s behind in almost every game (far behind in some of them), while yper already conquered 9 wins! I’d hardly call that remarkable.

congrats ypercube on clinching first place, nearly a year and a half after the tournament began....you dominated this one!

  • opmp at 2011-06-14

jepp, congrats from me too. real nice tournament

Formally, although it won’t happens in any of RoRoRo’s simulations, blargdragon can still be the champion for this tournament: with 11 games to go, he can reach 22 points, against yper’s 20. (I also don’t believe that will happen, so congrats yper!)

Marius, you are right, as of the time of roro’s last post, blargdragon had a mathematical chance. He has since lost three more, so now ypercube’s first place is clinched. Interesting that roro did not post the updated predictions. I believe that when one player shows 100% p(win) then roro stops posting, but in this case, it was NOT a 100% chance of winning mathematically (only by “simulation”). This is a minor bug with roro’s predictions. (roro should be smart enough to determine if a player has mathematically clinched or not. If the player has not clinched, perhaps it should only show 99.9% instead of 100% (and show the long-shot at 0.01%)
