dj, I refer you to the thread " Match Poland-USA” where it is stated “Juliusz Cezar will play instead of passenger and passenger will play instead of hiiintaro/telzshu”

That means the pairings are as follows:

David J Bush LeoniTim Shih Loko0mirror_man na_wspakTray Dedrickson passengerRyan Juliusz CezarLeoni Tim ShihLoko0 mirror_manna_wspak Tray Dedricksonpassenger RyanDavid J Bush Juliusz Cezarmirror_man LeoniTray Dedrickson Loko0Ryan na_wspakpassenger David J BushJuliusz Cezar Tim ShihLeoni Tray DedricksonLoko0 RyanDavid J Bush na_wspakTim Shih passengermirror_man Juliusz CezarRyan LeoniLoko0 David J Bushna_wspak Tim Shihpassenger mirror manJuliusz Cezar Tray Dedrickson

I invoked and disabled monospace font using the (pre) and (/pre) commands, where the parentheses were replaced with angled brackets.

  • Alan Turing at 2003-11-23

To show angled brackets, write “<” and “≷“. To show “&” write “&“.

Writing this message made my head hurt, though. :)

    Game #104553 is finished.

    Leoni vs. Tray Dedrickson 2:0

  • David J Bush ★ at 2003-11-24

A table of results is posted here. I will try to keep it current.

  • na_wspak at 2003-11-24

David: i got a little suggestion about your table. wouldnt it be nice to got straight to particular game clicking on a result to see/analyse it. although im novice in html and i might be wrong i think it wouldnt be hard to implement results as links.

i know dj wanted us not to write anything but results but now its better and simpler to click on Davids link and see whole table than look up a result in the thread;)

  • David J Bush ★ at 2003-11-25

Okay, each game cell now has a link to that game, except for mirror_man versus Juliusz Cezar, which apparently has not started yet. Please let me know if you discover any error. I lost against Leoni :-(

  • dj at 2003-11-25

    David,

Your chart is excellent, and I had hoped something so simple and elegant could have occured here. Alas, twas not to be.

I suggest you start a fresh thread, the title of which somehow negates the title of this thread and has your chart address in the first post.

It would be great also if your chart page had something akin to this thread, below the chart, so that the chart would always be at the top of the page, with chatting below it. I predict it would be pretty damn active.

    :) hi, I hope that na_wspak meant

    na_wspak vs. tshih 0:2

    good day.

  • anwi at 2003-12-10

In polish na_wspak means something like reversed, vice versa or upside-down, thus I do understand na_wspak message :)

  • dj at 2003-12-10

Score appears to now be 10-5 US over Poland

  • jjjklj at 2003-12-10

anwi, i think it was a mistake by na, because in his other posts it wasn't reversed…

  • Tim Shih ★ at 2003-12-10

hi, anwi, so in the future, when a Polish lady says to me,

“Tim, get out of my sight,”

    I should interpret it as,

“Tim, I am inviting you to my house.”

We learn new things every day. :)

  • Alan Turing at 2003-12-11

Sometimes I get the impression that's actually the way it is.

  • anwi at 2003-12-11

Hello Tim, your interpretation is valid only if the name of Polish lady is Na_wspak, however I think that there is something true regarding women nature (not only Polish) in your story :)

  • jjjklj at 2003-12-11

    Game #104552 is finished.

    passenger vs. Tray Dedrickson 0:2

  • na_wspak at 2003-12-11

oops sorry all for this mess it was my mistake of course:).

as for women, if woman says “no” it means “yes”, if she says “yes” it means “no” and if she says “i dont know” it means she's hot;) and dont forget polish women are the best, the prettiest, the most beauful, the samrtest and so on..;)

  • Tim Shih ★ at 2003-12-11

yes, na_wspack, my high regards to patriots, strong Hex players, and pretty women in Poland! :)

  • Alan Turing at 2003-12-12

And here I've always kept thinking that the Swedish women are the best.

    Dang.

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2003-12-12

    I support you Alan.

  • Tim Shih ★ at 2003-12-12

hi, Alan, and T. D., when I was young, I used to watch 007 James Bond movies. And boy, I vowed to myself, I'd better study hard and work hard, so that, in the future, I would be able to marry a stunning blonde like those in the movies.

I understand that Swedish women are good at table tennis, too. (and Swedish men are, too)

  • na_wspak at 2003-12-12

dont mind please but i think its a bit off topic;)

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2003-12-12

Yeah, at least the table tennis. ;)

  • dj at 2003-12-12

score appears to be 12-5 US. US wins first US-Polish CUP.

  • na_wspak at 2003-12-13

i thought the team should have at least 13 points to be sure of winning as there are 25 pts overall.

  • Ryan at 2003-12-14

I think he timed out, but I beat Juliusz Cezar

  • David J Bush ★ at 2003-12-16

Juliusz Cezar also timed out against Tim Shih and mirror man. :-(

  • ypercube at 2003-12-20

    game #107576 agoui-Jan Arild Teland : 2-0

Europe - Norway 6-0 (3 wins) up to now.

  • ypercube at 2003-12-20

Now the situation is changing a bit. Are we going to play against Poland at the next round or against Zimbabue? One of the Polish players (Loko0) seems to have defected…

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2003-12-20

Norway has a win: I beat Alan Turing, but I wasn't sure if I had to report it.

  • LoKo at 2003-12-20

It's a shame - I'll lose all my games so i decided to represent Zimbabwe. Poland has better player than me whose can play instead of me.

  • LoKo at 2003-12-20

    A propos

Every team should be chosen by own players. David chose our [Poland] team and we all see what happened. Juliusz Cezar lost by time.

    ehhh :-(

  • David J Bush ★ at 2003-12-20

Loko0, I responded in a separate thread. I have updated the charts. Please do report game results here, thanks; it helps a lot if I don't have to check the games repeatedly.

  • jjjklj at 2003-12-20

    Game #104541 is finished.

Juliusz Cezar vs. Tray Dedrickson 0:2

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2003-12-30

bennok has timed out against Marius, Jan Arild and Taral. He was on negative time against me during the recent “clog”, but made a move in time. ;-)

  • LoKo at 2003-12-30

David, Sorry for that i didn't write my results.

After ending match between Norway and Rest of Europe we could play USA - Rest of Europe and Poland - Norway, than USA - Norway and Poland - Rest of Europe. If it all will finish we 'll play revenges. What do you think about it?

  • ypercube at 2004-01-04

    Taral - ypercube : 2-0

  • ypercube at 2004-01-08

    Frode - ypercube 0 : 2

  • ypercube at 2004-01-09

  • ypercube at 2004-01-13

    Szabo Gabor - Taral 2 : 0

  • ypercube at 2004-01-13

It's going to be a tough match!

Bennok has sent me a message saying that he agreed with Marius, Jan and Taral to replay the games that finished due to time. I am not sure if he meant that these games will be valid for the Europe-Norway match or just for fun. What do you all think?

If the first case is correct then the score should be Europe 14 - Norway 8.

It's going to be a tough match anyway!

  • ypercube at 2004-01-13

    Jan Arild Teland - ypercube 0 : 2

  • ypercube at 2004-01-14

    Taral - agoui 2 : 0

  • ypercube at 2004-01-14

    Jan Arild Teland - Szabo Gabor 2 : 0

  • Alan Turing at 2004-01-15

Taral won in my game with him.

  • Alan Turing at 2004-01-23

    As did Jan Arild Teland.

  • Marius Halsor at 2004-01-24

    Marius Halsør - Szabo Gabor: 0 - 2

  • Alan Turing at 2004-01-26

    Frode - Turing, 2 - 0

  • Alan Turing at 2004-01-30

    turing - Marius Halsør 0 - 2

  • ypercube at 2004-02-09

Congratulations to Norwegian players for their victory. We'll continue the 3 remaining games and hope to smallen the gap. I think it's now time to discuss about the next round. I'll post on a new topic.

  • Marius Halsor at 2004-02-13

    Marius - Ypercube: 0-2

  • ypercube at 2004-02-17

After bennok-Frode 0-2, the final results are:

  • jjjklj at 2004-02-17
