Reply to this topic Return to forumAfter making a nice Hex board image, I decided to do the same for a game I like even more. Here is a 3-D image of a nice Twixt set I would like to have some day. The position is the final one from my game with Klaus which I talked about in the “exciting game” thread. I generated the image with POV-Ray, which is just about the most awesome freeware I have seen. What do you think? Warning: this is a large image, 1600x1000.
i cant see any image at the site u gave link to. it says the site is unavailable to see now.
Sorry, my Geocities site places a limit on how much traffic it gets. I'm not sure when it will allow traffic again. Maybe tomorrow you will be able to see the image. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I have posted the image to the BoardGameGeek website. It may take a few hours for the image to show up there.
I've made an attempt every single day, sometimes several times a day, to see this POV-Ray image. No luck. (Each time I'm directed to a page which says, “We're sorry, but this page is currently unavailable for viewing…“) And for whatever reason, I still do not see the image at BoardGameGeek's site either.
I'm sure I'll see it one of these days, but it is frustrating.
For what it's worth, this site:
http://www.hostmillennium.com/index.html
is currently hosting my domain name. (www.edcollins.com) When I signed up a year or so ago it was just $9.99 a year. Now I see that the fee has gone up to $14.99 a year. (This is for the Standard Plan.) But even at that rate it's still a good deal. For this price you get unlimited traffic to your site, unlimited MB space to store files, unlimited data transfer, zero pop-up ads, unlimited e-mail accounts… etc. And so far I've had no problem with them.
Ed
Very sorry about all this. Aldie at BoardGameGeek tells me the images didn't show up on his end, so I sent him the Twixt and Hex images again. Hopefully I can post links
to them tomorrow. In the meantime, Ed, I emailed you the image, and anyone else who wants to see it can get an email also- just send me your address. In PNG format it's about 400 KB in size. BTW the link I provided to my site is bad; Geocities doesn't allow any links other than .html links, so here is the corrected link, but it will probably just give you a different error message: “bandwidth exceeded” or something like that.
“The Twixt image is finally viewable! "
ot was worth waiting for - realy a slick image you've made. Some kind of appetizer, if you ask me.
Thanks
