Wondering again? - "K" in the C6 May monthly cup
  • euhuang at 2006-11-26

Do you find that? “K” is playing tricks in the Connect6 May 2006 Monthly Cup tournament –>

    http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/tournament/tournament.jsp?trnid=connect6.mc.2006.may.2.2

This “K” is making other 2 players play against each other, same as “The Weakest” did before.

    See this:

    http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/game/game.jsp?gid=613879 http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/game/game.jsp?gid=613884

(This is actually euhuang vs. clowread!!)

    http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/game/game.jsp?gid=613888 http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/game/game.jsp?gid=613891

(This becomes Marsh Song vs. dein, with rotation of the coordination!!)

And why did C6 May monthly cup began for the second time?LG lose sth??

  • Andrey at 2006-11-27

Yes, you are right euhuang. In this case webmaster must do something. For example kick off player “k” from all tournoments in LG without any consequence for his opponents. Lets try to send personal messages to Richard.

C6 May MC just continues. Now we are playing second round of it. See FAQ.

Unfortunately, I guess that Richard is rather dead than alive :((

There may be a way to solve this: we wait until K's time is up.

For example, at this very moment,

in the clowread vs K game, it is K's turn with 177 hours remaining.

In the euhuang vs K game: it is euhuang's turn with 234 hours remaining.

So, euhuang can wait for at least 177 hours so that K has to make his next move in the vs. clowread game. Of course, K can use vacation days. It depends on how many vacation days left for K.

I think I will just wait and see.

This “Man in the Middle” strategy has been used before on LG. I spesificly remember its use in Hex, but I think that was meant as an experiment. It has been used in other games too, I think. It is difficult to deal with, but obviously the first step is to detect it.

I wish that such behaviour had been specifically banned somewhere on this site, and properly dealt with. It seems that for the time being, it's up to the players to deal with the people employing such tactics. How can we annoy and bother them enough to leave the site for good?

Yes, this is practically the only way to react to such a trick. There was a hex player using the same trick a long time ago.
