Reply to this topic Return to forumRichard, you just made two very short draws in chess in very interesting positions (#589193 and #589194) after 15 and 18 your moves. Why we must make 100(!) absolutely senseless move here (game #613715) and in other games?
No answers.
It gives players an aversion to the playing.
In the tournament 'connect6.ch.2.1.1' nobody can make more than 50
so quaint~~
1) connect6.ch.2.1.1 is not finished yet.
2) i cant see any arguments not to allow “draw suggestion” option.
It is so boring playing draw position, especially after 70 moves.
Connect6&Gomoku must have draw option.
There are 3 draws in the 2nd C6 championship. And, many monthly cup 2nd round games are being held due to slow in unnecessarily completing the 150 moves in just one or two 1st round games. So, we really need this “Proposing a Draw” feature.
I had good time enjoying playing C6 games with many many good players here at LG. And this is the place I learned a lot of good playing tactics, and LG continues to serve the purpose to me till now. It will be very disappointing to say that LG is dead. Not quite, I think. Even this small “Draw” feature doesn't exist at LG, I would argue that LG may become dead only if good players don't participate any more. And still new players are joining everyday.
So, I don't expect we will have this “Draw” feature soon; on the other hand, I do expect to learn from each other if everyone continues to play here.
But how to make a draw? Have you got any concrete proposals?
And I want a better rules about connect6 not only the draw! For example, why we must play the first stone in the center of the board?
I don't see any reason to have the option to start from anotehr place and not the center. Why would that make a difference for black?
And, by “Draw” option, everyone means that it would be nice and useful if there was an option, say after move 100 or 120, to propose a draw and not have to fill up the whole board wasting each other's time.
As long as there aren't proofed surewins like in gomoku there is no need to not start in the center.
If we not start in the center, we can have more kinds of opining! There will be more interesting changesï¼The rule of connect6 is natural, and why we give it a man-made order about the position of the first stone?
I very agree with having draw, but, are there other better way to judge win, lose or draw?
I am pretty confident to say that starting from the center is as good as, if not better than any other moves. Allowing players to start from anywhere is pointless in most cases – the only exception I can think of is that it might enable us to play handicap games.
Looking at the games like this

I would better say - We want a bigger board!
Richu, have you ever played to a draw when playing on LARGER boards?
Maybe next live tournament you guys should print out larger boards for yourselves.
if you can't win on a 19x19, you're as strong as your opponent and á draw is fair. I want an 'offer draw' option too.
www.iggamecenter.com
The guy who runs this is really cool, and made us connect 6 with clocks and draws!
www.iggamecenter.com still very poor. One who will buy kurnik.org and promote it will be a millionare fastly.
What's the longest C6 game (here on LG) that didn't end with draw or LOT?
Looking through some of the top players' games I found this one with 132 moves, but that's just because both players missed the potential of move 90 in moves 91 and 92 (and onwards). This game seems to be a “genuine win” of 83 moves (actually 85 moves if played to completion). I would guess 100 moves should be enough (but I agree that a draw option would be much better still).
Well at least Richard finally changed the link to the FAQ, which must have taken him all of five minutes. Changes to programming? Fuggedaboutit.
