I was born in 1974 and have been enjoying abstract games since my childhood.
I used to play Othello competitively, and took part in two world championships: Athens 1997 and New York 2001. I also won the Swedish Championship in 1999.
I also programmed an Othello program, which was (in different versions) named either Unicorn or Corn, which while good enough to beat me (and most humans), sadly never was one of the top programs. I have also programmed AIs for Checkers, Kalah and Arimaa.
My favourite abstracts are:
Creeper
*Star
Project Kell: Sacred Hill
Project Kell: High Kings of Tara
Santorini
Rumis
Amazons
Othello
Mastery
ConHex
Game of Y
Dvonn
Guard & Towers
Dama (Turkish Checkers)
Shogi
I also enjoy playing Eurogames, and can be found on Boardgamegeek as unic. Particularly, I enjoy the no-luck and no-hidden information 18xx series of train games.
My wife is registered as tinykitty here and I love her dearly and enjoy her company much - even more than I enjoy playing abstract games :)
