My tips for learning
try all the sites, find one at your level
put every finished game into a program
eg Zebra, Ntest, Herakles for 10x10, maybe add them to thier book and then edit learn file(s)
for your colour or short games

My tips for playing
Compactness:- flip few/central/internal/non-diagonal
play next to own colour
[exception if clear advantage can guide play into a corner]
Opening:- mostly memory
Edge:- usually played out once started (area=edge 4-6+ pre-edge 4)
X:- to attack odd edges or control main diagonal
Ending:- parity controlled by saved/forced moves
(Parity= even number of related moves (usually in same line/area)
(-Parity= odd number of related moves (usually in a triangle))
