Reply to this topic Return to forumWas anyone else unable to access the site for the past 40 hours or so, or was that just me?
I timed out on several games in the process. Granted, it's on me that I let the time run down as much as I did, but I did still have time left that I was prevented from using.
You're not alone. It also cost me a vacation day. I'll get over that, though.
I was on the verge of suicide, then I realized that it would imply having my games time out …
I first noticed LG was down some time Friday 2012-04-20 around 23:00 GMT.
Yes, the site was down. Sometimes it is, but more often then not it is up.
Any news from Richard? Will we “time travel” this time?
I had 12 timeouts due to the downtime :(
I could not connect Friday evening/night, Sat evening/night, Sunday completely, and now it's Monday.
I was always someone who told people to stop whining if they let their time run down to 1 hour, and then cannot connect during that hour.
But I lost now nearly 96 hours, which I think is beyond the stop-whining-zone. :-(

That was probably the NSA installing their tap so they can monitor this conversation.
Osama bin Laden, bomb, TNT, jetliner, explosive vest, terrorist, Muslim, dynamite, airplane, Taliban, imam
Now their filtering software can declare the mission a success. :)
I'm having the occasional glitch from the server when I maka a move (only sometimes, and the move does seem to be registered):
“Incorrect key file for table './golem/indexgame.MYI'; try to repair it”
And my game state has become corrupted in one of my games. (White moved in dvonn, and at the end of the move, the pile was black.)
Probably safest to not play any more until there's confirmation things are OK.
StreetSoccer game 1431181 shows it's my turn, even though I was the last to move. Move 34 (a roll of 4) by Red (me) is now about to be followed by move 35 (a roll of 2) also by Red. This is weird. I'm going to forgo moving for the nonce.
In comparision, StreetSoccer game 1431184 is working normally. cbzim just made a move (49, a roll of 1) as Yellow, I made a move (50, a roll of 6) as Red, and now it's not my turn.
Several Slither games and a tournament are messed up also:

My StreetSoccer game is fixed. Thank you, Richard, for repairing the database before I gave in to temptation and took two turns in a row.
Is it safe to continue playing? I have time and holidays in hand, so can hold off if there's any chance of playing causing or suffering from further corruption.
Another day lost. It's getting really obnoxious, I have only a limited time a day, and it was down within that window again. Guess I'm going to move on.
actually, it appears Richard gave back some vacation days…I had lost three days I think, and they are no longer on my vacation list.
and for the record, some games that timed out during the snafu were subsequently reinstated..
(see the interesting breakthrough forum thread “Breakthrough Championship #16” for proof of timed out games being reinstated )
