I think notes would be a great feature to add, it is prevalent in some other async board gaming website and it really helps with a lot of games ongoing.

This used to be a feature, but I guess hardly anyone used it, so now it's gone.

They would still be very useful for strategic games like for instance chess and havannah. One could note what the critical line or strategy is, and easily pick up for the next move

Hex and Twixt players here have the benefit of a link on each game page to an analysis page where variations can be played out. These pages were created by generous users with coding skills and their own websites. I am sure Richard would be willing to add links to similar sites for other games, as long as no engine is involved.
