Winboard Engine for Ewn
  • Ingo Althofer at 2016-07-16

    Hello,

Harm Geert Muller is one of the senior programmers in computer chess and for other games. He wrote his first chess program back in 1976. In the 2016 Computer Olympiad his bot for instance won Gold in the Shogi competition on 5x5-board. During the Computer Olympiad he also watched the EinStein cvompetition - and over night wrote a Winboard interface (including a nice engine) for “EinStein wurfelt nicht”.

You can read and download from his website:

    Dear Ingo,

this is interesting. Are also bot-bot matches possible?

It would be no problem (at least I hope so) to add a small fraggle_reloaded_c as starting point/opponent to the UI.

Dear Ingo, send an email to my University address, and I will forward it to Harm Geert Muller.

    Cheers, Ingo.

PS. Another strong Ewn programmer, Andrew Lin, has retired, and offers his code (cpp files) to the community. I will put them on my website, soon.
