I've been trying for three days, and have had a devil of a time

Right *now* the current problem is that it wants a couple of include files called “vector” “string” and “hash_table” but these don't exist. Is there some library I need to install??

I just want to play gipf against my computer :(

Aha. It now appears I need something called the “STL include files”

Linux is such an adventure.
