Congratulations to all LG players who played at the WOC
  • agoui (limited edition) at 2003-11-02

Congratulations to the two LG players who played in the recent WOC, Jan-Kristian Haughland and Roel. The WOC appeared to be the hardest so far and that makes their performance even more remarkable.

Well done to both of you :)

Thanks. Too bad I didn't meet Roel so I could play the opening he revealed in this forum. ;-)

  • Roel at 2003-11-03

and who's going to win te next woc and of this year? i cannot make a guess, but i hope it will be someone that came out of nowhere… :-)

  • movieloverxxl at 2004-10-02

    i'll be there :-)

  • argh at 2004-10-02

my body will be there …..

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2004-10-03

Movieloverxxl, you must be Tom then? I'll be there, and among the other participants that have played more or less regularly on LG I found Jeroen de Wael, Nicky, Leon Kamphuis, Roberto Sperandio and dodo_italy.

well, 'ercolatena' indicated sometime ago that he could show up for Switzerland…But he's been rather quiet since.

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2004-10-04

Maybe some of the Spanish participants play here too.

  • agoui (limited edition) at 2004-10-04

Are the other two who qualified for the WOC (apart from Detasio (Ruben)) playing here too?

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2004-10-04

I have no idea. Gambito probably doesn't play live (see the other thread) but do we know unsusto's real name?

  • agoui (limited edition) at 2004-10-04

May be some of the other spanish players can help. Off course they have the 'brilliant' 'Bishop' too :)

And who is the norwigian 'jonny justvik'?

  • Tasmanian Devil at 2004-10-04

Jonny Justvik is his real name. When I started playing in 1990, he was already the highest ranked player in Norway, and he was second in the Nordic Championship 1992, winning the first of the three final matches against the “legendary” Karsten Feldborg of Denmark. There were almost no live tournaments in Norway from 1995 to 2000, and after that he has only played in one of them - the Norwegian Championship 2002. I think he was a bit rusty then from lack of practice, as he won “only” 4 out of 7 games, but his performance in the previous and the current LG championship suggests he is back in his old shape. :-)

oooh yea! After your reply, I remembered that Vidar mentioned him when he briefly played a few games here a couple of years ago.

  • detasio at 2004-10-05

Un_susto is Jorge bandrés the third qualificated in the spanish champiosnhip but he dont want to go to the woc. Gambito is finally a cheater , he gave me our game after a long conversation.

Mmariomm(mario Madrona) told me that he is already playing LG.

otherwise i will try to stay at london that days, only i need found a cheap fly and hotel.

    See u all

    Ruben detasio

Mmariomm playing at LG? Cool! I believe I used to play with him at a real time game server way back! I hope the new strong players keep joining LG and, more important, that they like playing turn-based style!:)

  • ercolatena at 2004-10-07

ercolatena will be in london to cheer for the Italian, Swiss, Spanish and Greek teams. Agoui, is there a Greek team? What about Cyprus?

  • argh at 2004-10-07

i just found out that Jonas is going to woc too

  • agoui (limited edition) at 2004-10-09

    ercolatena,

why not play if you will make the trip? Surely it can not be more stressful than refereeing a game - remember the makoto-caspard game? :)) I guess there is no need to place a link to the picture :)

My friend, with the increased work load this last year, I realised that it is unlikely that I will be able to go to a WOC. But as I mentioned before, I am hopefull that a player from Cyprus will play in the WOC in about 10 years :)
