word game scoring

how many letters are needed to count as a word?
especially when it comes to doubling and tripling?
if as few as two letters are used ive been losing alot of extra points
if not then there is a problem with scoring maybe?

i'm pretty sure it say you need 3 letters or more for 2x-ing or 3x-ing.

To be more correct - you need to have at least 3 "tiles" - so the word "Qua" would not double - since the "Qu" is on 1 tile. :-)
