"A littlebit off-topic (and because of that, I ask it in this thread in stead of starting a new one ..." I don't quite follow your reasoning there, which is why I have started a new thread. I have sometimes seen old 11x11 Hex sets (and very nice homemade sets) on auction on eBay. But you can buy a hexagonal Battlemat from Chessex at http://chessex.com Look for the "factory seconds" link for a great deal. A Battlemat with 1" hexes can be cut into a 15x15 rhombus shape for Hex. If you have access to a sewing machine, you can zigzag stitch the edges with black & white thread to label them, and to prevent any possible fraying. Standard size Go stones would fit just fine on this board. You can get some inexpensive ones from Yutopian at https://www.yutopian.com/yutop/cat?category=S You may have to file off the burrs from these plastic "stones". Total cost: less than $25.

This forum is to discuss things about this site (board sales are way off topic, imho). The thread was about a hex board (which made the topic just little off topic). Okay, I expressed it a little strange, I agree :-) So one has to make its own Hex board. Interesting. I will follow the links you gave me. Thanks alot.
