removing zombies from championships

I've not played a single move in go13 newbs and zombies division, yet have magically managed to win 4 games without playing a single move against 4 zombies. Yay, I gain kyu, but that's bullcrap - I've not magically become a better player after it. And all this wave of ratings boost will do will be to feed the players above me who will undoubtedly beat me even if my kyu is equal to theirs. So I'll then have a nice ratings plummet. Which doesn't mean I've magically become a worse player.

Ups and downs - both meaningless - both basically nothing but noise caused by zombies.

Simple heuristic - if you time out without playing a move in any championship game, you are automatically unsubscribed from it (and sent a message telling you this).

Please.

Agreed! and unsubscribed from all championships, and not just that one.

I have played (lower) leagues in the Championships for all the games a while ago, and most of them have only one or two active players in the group. It is boring to wait for 42 games to timeout after three are completed. That's not a championship spirit.

I agree too. People can easily subscribe again when(if) they get back.

Yes - unsubscribing players who time out without making a single move in a championship game, sounds like a very good idea. What does it take today? Timing out in ALL championship games without making a move? I think SOMETHING is implemented already.

Oh absolutely, in fact I would favor not giving vacation days to newbies until they have demonstrated a rudimentary ability to make moves. But I'll gladly take whatever improvements we might receive.

This website explains the process of killing zombies. Basically, "Zombies can be killed by a bullet or sharp blow to the head. 'Kill the brain, and you kill the ghoul' ".

It is also recommended that you immediately burn any zombies that you kill.

Another method is as Fatphil recommends, write a simple heuristic. Probably easier for Richard to implement that one! Save us lots of trouble involved in shooting them! (although you do gain rating points that way!)

Let's shoot 'em all and increase our FRAGs! Oh my!, LG's fora are so funny from time to time! Zoombies: LOL! 8-))

I find it hard to believe that the last two comments have not been censored here on LG. Apparently you are not aware that the undead are struggling to gain civil rights in our society. Just because some fringe elements of the zombie community can't control their urge to eat the brains of the living doesn't mean all of them should be treated so poorly. Zombies are people too. For information that could change your mind watch the documentary on the plight of the zombies http://www.crackle.com/c/Rising_Up_The_Story_of_the_Zombie_Rights_Movement/Rising_Up_The_Story_Of_The_Zombie_Rights_Movement/2479793

there will be an annoying ad first of course but the documentary is worth it.

That being said...I agree that Zombies should be removed from championships with an automatic heuristic as FatPhil suggested. It would be an enormous improvement in the flow of championships.
