does anyone know the formula for how user tournaments are set up? I don't think the organizer of the tournament can make this decision except by limiting the number of players, or can he?

I looked at a few user tournaments, and I noticed if a tournament had 15 (or less) players, then there would be one section of 15 players. I then saw a tournament with 16 players and the tournament was split into 3 groups (two 5-player groups and one 6-player group) I am assuming that it will not split a tournament into 2 groups (to avoid a 2 player finals?)

Any insight will be appreciated.

a) as the creator of a tournament, you have no choice on group size or tournament size. You can add a password and/or change it at any time, so you can indirectly limit the number of players (changing/adding a password will disable new joins), but otherwise, you have no control

b) I think the rules for group size changed multiple times in the last 18 months. Some of the first tournaments I participated had 6 or 7 players, now some have over 15. It also seems to depend on the game - StreetSoccer seems to have larger groups, for example. This is from memory and not verified though.

I am 99% sure that you both are right. BUT:

Street Soccer has larger groups only in Championships. I think that in User Tournaments the limit is 15 for every game.

Ray, don't forget that the top 2 players are promoted to the following step. Hence, it is impossible to a have a 2 (o a 3) - players Final. At least, 6.

Thank you both of you. It would be nice if the organizer had a little more control on how to set up the tournament, for example, he could allow one or two to promote, or set a limit on size of sections or set a limit on # of players that can register, etc.

I agree, it would be nice. But creating manually tournaments is nice, too.

And you can do quite everything. Have you seen LCL?!
