Would it violate any standing taboo to post a link to a free online turn based war game at www.onlinefrontlines.com and encourage people to go check it out? It needs a few more active players. I really like the game and would like to see some smart people from this site (LG is full of those) check it out and maybe send me a challenge, but if it will piss people off than I won't mention it...
This should do, note that the actual address starts with "http://..." otherwise the browser will guess incorrectly that it is a page on this website you are searching.
Looking at the rules, it seems to be very similar to Battalion. Battalion is a flash game I always liked. You play vs. the computer on about 10 levels. The units, terrain modifiers, which unit is good vs. another etc. seems all to be the same. So those who might be overwhelmed can first play through Battalion.
If you want to know the basics about HTML, or any other web-programming language, then w3schools is a good site to get an overview. Here is the link for HTML.
Wow maraca, Commander Keen, that's some game, I aman abandonware enthusiast, lately I havebeen replaying Flight of the Amazon Queen, Eye of the Beholder and Champions of Krynn, you also play some abandonware games?
Unfortunately I'm a little bit young to know all these games. However I get one here and there, just love the charm of these old games. When I was about 12 I played Commander Keen on my Dads PC and that's how I learned to love those old games. I really started 'gaming' about 1995, still love Fallout 1 and 2 from back then. Other old games I like are Lemmings, the Monkey Island series, Sim City 2000, ...
There are still text based browsers... and yes alt is required. I mean you can't post a link to w3fools who's ranting about w3schools and then saying alt isn't required, that's just not consistent.
Error Line 33, Column 203: required attribute "ALT" not specified
The attribute given above is required for an element that you've used, but you have omitted it. For instance, in most HTML and XHTML document types the "type" attribute is required on the "script" element and the "alt" attribute is required for the "img" element.
It's a mess anyway, because HTML and XHTML syntax is mixed here.
