At the moment, my summary shows 24,994 players, so should hit 25,000 players soon!

24995 now (10 minutes later)

24996 (20 minutes later)

24997 (129 minutes later)

How many times has the google bot signed up accidentally?!?!

The funny thing is he/she has already a name.

Player number 25981 seems to be 24997th player. So 25000th player will have number 25984? Big shift in numeration nearly 1000.

While the number of players (shown at the top of this page) is 24997, the highest player number is 25981.

I don't think players who don't play should be considered as players.

I don't think anyone should be hammering the server with multiple queries just out of curiosity. If Richard wants to share that information with us, he can do a simple single query on the database, I'm sure.

My guess would be that there are beween 2000 and 3000 "active" players on the site. But I haven't got any data to back that up. Also, a definition of an "active" player is needed.

If we define active as those who have logged on less then 1 year ago than this is the list of those players, currently 2764. To track this number automatically (check it once a day) is not so hard I think and it require only few request from server.

If active means with at lest one ongoing game than we could check all those 2764 profiles. But it will be to much for the server as FatPhil said.

Aganju is tracking the number of active players (logged on less then 1 year ago, and at lest one game finished in considered game) for different games separately for over two years. Does anyone do so for the total number of players?
