Will all 19x19 Go games be handicapped in the future, or just theese "MC's"?

I was just thinking on what this will do to the rating. That is, with some games handicapped and some not.
For example, to raise my rating I just play lots of hadicapped games!

I don't know for certain how handicap ratings work here, but usually, a handicap game will have a different result on your rating than an even game. You wouldn't stand to gain as much in your rating if you play a stronger player at handicap, than if you play that same player in an even game. If the handicap is appropriate for your relative strengths, then you should stand to gain or lose the same amount as if you were playing an equally rated player in an even game. The FAQ says "the details are not interesting," but I for one would be very interested in the formulas used.

Of course. Rating is computed with consideartion on number of handicap stones. Rating of oponent is "moved" according to number of stones.

I noticed that the TXT function for handicap games isn't working quite right. Black has a null first move and there is no handicap statement in the SGF text.

By the way, I appreciate the addition of this feature.

At some point, it would be nice to add a handicap feature to unrated games. Technically this can be accomplished already (see game 12669 where I am getting a six-stone handicap by prior arrangement with Bela Nagy). by prior agreement of the players.

Thanks again for the great web site.
