AM I A SORE LOSER?

or what? I am getting uninterested in this site for the following reasons. I would like to be able to be rated by playing regular games not just tournament games. OR better yet have a tournament for beginners and a separate one for the 'pro' type player. it is very discourageing to always be beaten by them. so I guess I am either a SORE LOSER or a VERY BAD PLAYER. :(

Rating tournaments are for begginers: [1] You play only with players with the similar rating [2] You play only 3 games

so......:)

It means rating tournament should be between players of the same strenght...

thank you Richard. however I can't see that myself say at 1555 and another player at 1855 is in the same catagory is it? you are all right, I am just a sore loser :)

If you want a higher rating, the best way to get it is to play games against players who are rated higher than you. Of course, you have to beat them to increase your ratings, but it can be done. It happened to me at another site, goldtoken.com. When I first joined that site, I played a game of 4 in a row against a player (I think his name was metal_guru or something like that). He had a very high rating, and the only reason he played me was because he thought he could beat me, but I surprised him and won the game. So it can be done.

i'm sorry about that patty, but you can't expect to have easy games in a monthly cup final ;)

I must agree with naomi_klein on the remarks about lower rated players playing against high rated players, and going for the win! and the satisfaction of having played and given the best a run for their money.
Just one problem there, most higher rated players don´t act as gentlemanlike as this metal_guru, but tend to WHINE a lot when losing points..espescially to low rated players like myself. whine whine whine...and whine
As if its EXPECTED to lose just because the opponent has 200 points higher rating. So there!
