I just played a game of DVONN, game number 16490, and both my opponent and I had a stack of eight, which was the highest number in the stack. It is my understanding that if there was a tie for the highest stack, the game ended in a draw, but the server recorded it as a loss. Did I missread the rules or is there some error in the game.

Scoring is correct in this game. The score is the total of ALL piles left on the board. So white had a total of 20 (8+8+4), and black just had a total of 8. So white won.

Misreading is easy to do. A section of the rules follows: ............"each player puts all of the stacks he controls on top of each other. The player with the highest stack wins the game, regardless of the color of the pieces in his stack." ............The part I missed on first reading was that players stacks all that they control in one pile before counting.
