I think that it should be valid, but maybe it is thought of as a name and thus not valid? I God a valid word?

As always on such questions: If it is not in the ENABLE wordlist, it is not considered valid. Some words will always be missing whatever wordlist is used. Jehova is also nordic form of Jehovah, which in turn is a proper noun and should not be listed.

If it were on the list it would be Jehovah. But, it's not on the list.

What is the ENABLE word list?
In one of my games my opponent entered the word "SHAWS" and the system accepted it. But afterwards, using the link to dictionary.com, it was indicated as unknown word.
It seems to me, that it has been mistake as plural of "Shaw". But that's a name ...
Any explanation?

Hi Gerard.
You will find an explanation on Enable in the GWG forum.

First, the English word is Jehovah, with a final h. Second it is capitalized, indicating a proper name, which I believe disqualifies.

I find that I notice Jewish-related words quite a lot. I have used GOY, YID, and GHETTO, some of them more than once. I guess it's just that they have useful letter-combinations that aren't too common in English.

As is mentioned before, should be and is valid are two different things. ENABLE is the only authority, apparently. I don't know how you go appeal to them, but until they fix it, it isn't valid. I bet "god" is valid. Uncapitalized, "god" is a generic noun. Jehovah is capitalized--more like a name.

For the record, "god" is indeed a valid word in this game.
Just for fun are a few more words you might not think were valid, but are: batman, superman, japan, alaska, calif, psst, shh, kremlin, honda, exec, mensa, alamo.

I agree with you about most of the others; but "batman" is an ordinary English word. A batman is a soldier who acts as valet to an officer.
