It would be nice to have some kind of notice near the links when there are new messages in the game forums. Otherwise people would have to click on every game forum links just to check.

A forum dedicated to each game is a nice feature. Thanks. Some questions on the use of the forums though: Should suggestions for improvements on a game be posted in that games forum or should we post all suggestions in the general forum?

I agree...having a forum dedicated to each game is a nice feature. I also agree with Bela Nagy that it would be helpful to have some sort of notice or indication when there is a new post on one of the forums.

How would the server know what articles are "new" for you? Would you expect it to keep track of what threads you looked at, and what pages of each thread you have looked at? How about a full-featured news reader, while you're at it? Options to mark threads as read, a subscription list to your preferred games, perhaps? How about a nice cup of Jasmine tea while you read? Sheesh!

I have a request which, hopefully, would not be such an immense programming burden: On the main menu, when you click on "Forum," a sub-menu appears for the different games. But when a specific thread in a specific forum is chosen, that sub-menu goes away. Sometimes the "back" button does not work well on Little Golem; I get a "page expired" error message instead. So, it would be nice if that sub-menu were to stay available even when reading a thread. Thanks.

It is possible for the server to keep track of which messages are read by using cookies. This will not work if you access the site from different computers and it need some programming.

Another and much easier way to implement the feature is to indicate the date for last message posted on each forum link to the left. This way you dont have to open every forum to see if there is a new post.

I'm not into programming, so I don't know how it can be done, but I do know that it's possible for the forums to let users know when a new message has been posted. It works that way at goldtoken.com, and it doesn't matter what computer I'm using either. As long as I'm logged in using my user id, I can see when there are new posts on the various discussion boards.

I'm sorry I lapsed into sarcasm. It's perfectly appropriate to make any suggestion you want. Whether Richard implements it or not, is of course up to him. The date of the last post in each forum would certainly be easier than messing with cookies, but there is then the issue of where these dates would be displayed. Would there be room in the "Main Menu" on the left?

This solution is great!!! Nice work! You are making the by far best site on the net (in my regards that is). I can't figure how you manage to improve the site, play games and take care of the maintenence. If you have a job on the side of it you are close to superhuman :)

Very nice solution. How about also showing a date/time in main menu/forum for any forum update. Great site.

Cheers, Bill.
