I posted two games in the waiting room (two each, totaling four) before I realized they wouldn't be rated. Then I asked myself the same question: what's the point?

The next games I placed in the waiting room were the games I've either never played or need more practice playing. That, I would say, is the purpose: to help you learn or improve your game without the pressure of a rating change.

Of the games that I AM familiar with, I entered a rating tournament so I could start finding out what my rating will be.

Problem qith rating games outside tournaments is tat it so easy to blow up your rating. Make a fake id (or 2) and play several games winning them all...

Just rating tournament games are much better.

I think the point is as well Andrew..that some of us like to play without using dictionaries for the word game, ...but would be nice for us if we had ratings as well...

Hi! I myself like playing for fun. I don't care if it's rated or not. If you want a rated game, get into a tournament. If you want a fun game, send me an invitation!

(I, like gabbybrook, DO NOT use a dictionary!)
