it would be nice if we could see the flags of everybody who posts here so you know if you sould answer in english or for example if klaashaas talks to me it could be done in dutch and english.

i think if we all use a language which everybody can understand everybody will be happy :)

so the whole site is going to be in dutch then ;-)

I think we should use English only on the public forum.

I hate it when I see a message with an interesting topic or keywords, but can't understand it :-)

English should not be a must, at least that's my opinion. Perhaps there are people who just don't know a word in English, should not they post? Someone else can translate if it's an interesting topic.

You are right, it's not a must and it shouldn't keep anyone from posting. The past has proven that interesting posts will be translated if requested.

Hvordan kan du vite at dette innlegget er interessant?

This is an excellent example of a message that is NOT interesting enough to see translated:)

But to answer your question, you don't. But you often recognise some (key)words to have an idea what it is about.

Does that say something like

"How can you tell if it's interesting if it's in another language?"

Looks like it might to me, but my poor Englishman's grasp of these foreign languages is too poor :-p

Πολύ καλό! Ας δούμε και Ελληνικά για να ελέγξουμε και τις γραμματοσειρές.

And the previous posting was just a check to see if you can see Greek. I assume most people do not have greek fonts installed. Does it work ?

Well, I don't the know Greek alphabet but it seems to work:

_ _ lambda _ Kappa alpha lambda _ ! capitalalpha xsi? delta....

However, I can't even guess the meaning when it uses a different alphabet...

The others seemed to be vaguely greek alphabet looking, but I haven't used them as variables so I got stuck :-)

So it works. Once again, thank you Richard ! (and Java and Unicode)

there are greek letters but no polish:)

In my opinion we should stick to English in the forum. First of all. Most people have enough knowledge of English to understand what is written.

The entire site is documented only in English as well.

If this is badly needed I am sure Richard can put up some forums dedicated to foreign languages and I am sure he would welcome a translation of the FAQ.

btw: My message (in norwegian) was: How can you tell if this message is interesting:)
