The rules to the game that are listed on this websit do not make any sence. Can someone please teach me how to play and the pass-bid stuff?

For most of the game, players take turns to make a word from the grid and score what their word is worth.
If this was the whole game, it would be an advantage to move first, you would get the first word. So, to make it fair, the game starts with an auction for the right to make the first word. During this auction, you have two choices. (1) You can make a higher bid; maybe 1 higher than your opponent just bid, or maybe several points higher. Or if your move is the very first move of the game, you can make any positive bid. (2) You can pass.
Once a player has passed, the auction is over. The player who passed gets the points which their opponent last bid, and the other player, the one who has made the highest bid, gets to make the first word.
There is also an "auto-bidding" system, but all this does is speed up the process that I have described above.
