I think checkers is a classic game and would be good for those players who don't like to play really long games (Go, etc.). It would also open up the site yo a lot more players since most everyone knows how to play checkers.

I agree, checkers would make a fine addition to the site, the only argument against it's inclusion would be that seeing as it is available at a number of other sites, people can play the game there and Richard can continue to develop games here which are not available generally on the web.

I don't think I'd be any more interested in checkers than an uncommon but very playable game like shogi.

I think the best argument to bring checkers to the site would be the fact that a broader sampling of internet gamers would come to the site and maybe get interested by the other fine games available on this site.

I very much agree with your point, checkers would be an excelolent way to encourage people to visit and play here.

Littlegolem is a nice mixture of classical and modern games. The two latest additions were DVONN and Twixt, two modern games. So perhaps it is time to add another classic game, and checkers would be a very nice addition.

Checkers would be nice. But I hope with the International 10x10 rules!

I mean International Draughts. But at ItsYourTurn.com, at least, Polish and Internatinal Draughts have different rules.

i utterly disagree on the point that checkers would bring a broader number of gamers to the site, since it seems to be a very local game, anywhere in the world with different rules (like in the States they try to play it on a chess board, (and not the normal 10x10), en with a very weak king). While in some countries your allowed to take whatever stone you can take, other rules stipulated you have to go for the move that gives you most stones.... I think implementing checkers meaning a hard time on explaining the rules the implementation uses, and a lot of fuzz of people thinking their checker rules are the best in the world. (you might check itsyourturn.com for at least 7 or 8 variants of the game)
