Tournament Start Date

I'm new to this site.Can someone please tell me when the next chess (rating & monthly) r due to begin.? Is it a case of waiting 4 a certain amount of players to sign up, or is there a set date.? Thanks. Ian

Rating tournaments start whenever a 4 players of a given level are signed up. A level runs between the even hundreds (ie, 1000-1199, 1200-1399) A Monthly tournament section fills whenever 5 players of any level have signed up for a monthly tournament. All section winners for a given month then play in successive rounds to determine the eventual winner.

Level in the Go games are from 19kyu-22kyu, 15kyu-18kyu... This pattern runs up and down in ranges of 4 stones.

I'm in the go 9x9 monthly and had opponents from 20 kyu to 5 kyu. I guess those divisions apply to only 19x19?

No they apply only in "rated tournaments". In the monthly cup and championship you get to play anyone.

Ok, confused again. I thought all tournaments affected rating. That's one of the reasons I signed up for some monthlies. :?

In tournaments is rating always computed. There are three kinds of tournament - one of them - rating tournaments - is tournament, where all players in one tournament group have the same (or similar) ratring.
