Orhello is (or was) a product label 'invented' by a commercial game producing company to sell reversi games.

"Othello" is a registered trademark owned by Tsukuda and licensed through Anjar to Mattel. Mattel do not allow implementations of it, under the name "Othello", to appear on the web. It is very similar to Reversi, which existed in 1880 and is now out of copyright.

Some people say that there is a small difference between reversi and othello.

In Othello two black discs are placed on e4 and d5 and two white discs on d4 and e5.

In Reversi the players subsequently play their discs on the four central squares in the first four moves.

After that it's the same.

That is correct, but there is another difference. In the original Reversi, each player started with only enough disks to cover half the board. If these ran out (only possible if his opponent had been forced to pass) then he was himself forced to pass.
