I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but the emial reminders apparently went down about the time Richard left for vacation.

I don't know if any tournaments started after that particular daemon went down, but it would be a shame if someone placed into a championship or latter round of a montly cup was forfeited without ever knowing they had active games.

There may also be players who had no games where it was their turn, knew the site was down, and assumed that when the site was up and any opponents moved, notification would be sent. Such players could still think the site is down, depspte the reality that we're here and their clocks are expiring (or rather, going below zero and will be expired when the daemon is restored.)

I have to agree with you there - there are alot of people timing out on games and I was wondering about that. I check it everyday unless I am not around.

Which I don't doubt, but even when I knew the site to be down,I still checked to see if it came back up.

How about setting each clock under 48h back to 48h, or something similar, once Richard gets back?

Not a very big problem I guess. As long as e-mail notification is suspended, timeouts will be suspended as well;)
