hate to whine about Shogi

But I will, anyhow. Shogi is not Chess. (In fact, arguably Chess 960 is not Chess.) I understand that it is sometimes referred to as 'Chinese Chess'; maybe there are some similarities, but it is a different game.

I really wish Shogi would have it's own, separate forum page. When I visit the forum and I see a post about 'Chess', I have a look - expecting that somebody has said something about Chess; maybe something of interest to me. Then I see it's just a Shogi post.

But I personally have no interest whatsoever in these Shogi posts. Man oh man - wasted a whole 4 seconds of my life clicking a link, looking at the post subject, and then leaving. Seems like nothing, I know - but it's frustrating to me.

So I thought I'd whine. Maybe if I drank more wine, then I'd whine less.

maybe you should just learn Shogi? It's not half bad, really.

i agree with MisterCat, i find it annoying that the win/loss/rating stats for chess and chess 960 are mashed together as one.

*shogi is japanese chess. chinese chess is a different game.

oh yeah, I agree with that. Every version of every game should have it's own rating.
