Ganz legal. Aber wenn der Rote in der Ecke austrit (vielleicht nur eine Treppe, aus der Grenze), muss Gelb das Ball erfreien. [Maybe somebody can please translate this into proper German.]

'befreien' would be the proper german word. :-) Und Ball ist besser als Kugel.

Ui echt; so ne Situation hatte ich noch nie. Man lernt nicht aus; selbst nach tausenden von Spielen :-)

For the benefit of those reading this topic in future years, the point in game 1337511 where Marc asked the question was move 35.

I had guessed that much. A pity he didn't do so in move 33.

The rules say that after completing your move, the opponent must be able to reach the ball without leaving the playing field (the distance doesn't matter).

In move 35, Red could reach the ball (standing next to it), so Yellows move was legal.

In move 36, Red stepped outside, so now if Yellow does not open a hole, Red cannot reach the ball within the playing field, so any move of yellow that does not open a hole is illegal (and cannot be played).

There were discussions about that before, and the solution for Red (stepping outside) was proposed.
