For those who missing RoRoRos winning probability estimations...

I made a table with the teams, their point and the expected number of points. This estimation based on the asumption that every unfinished game can be won by both sides with probability 1/2.

Ma Waldorf and her naive child 0 54 : 28 13,94

WE MOVE AT RANDOM 0 26 : 16 11,52

Germany 0 28 : 18 11,42

Serendipity 0 22 : 16 10,82

Finnish EinStein Players 0 22 : 16 10,70

Team USA 0 16 : 18 9,73

Slovakia 0 26 : 30 9,41

EinStein Italia 0 20 : 26 9,06

France EWN 0 22 : 34 8,20

Equipo Español 0 8 : 24 7,73

Sobral1919 0 18 : 36 7,46

please do not misundestand me, but i dont think it is a good idea having teams of 1 o 2 players.

Maybe 3 o 4 must be the minimum, Just MHO.

Hello kpato,

> i dont think it is a good idea having teams of 1 o 2 players.

I fully agree with you. When I started "Mission Waldorf" my hope was

to find 4 hungry bots - and in this hope the intended role for me was to sit

on the balcony and give sarcastic comment. But everything came different:

Only one naive child_c showed up - and the start of the tournament came

so rapidly that I had had no time to step back.

Thus, the naive child (and its programmer - entering all moves by hand!) and

me were the only ones to held the flag up: each one started with 40 games

simultaneously (in words "fourty games"). Can you imagine what this meant

for us? The bot programmer sat in front of RTL television the whole weekend,

transfering moves between bot and internet. And me: EWN from the early

morning to the late night. Now, that the number of running games for me

has reduced from 40 to 13, I can think about normal life again:

breakfast in peace, regular office, normal courses for the students, and

from time to time a kiss to my wife...

When this team tournament is over, one of two things will happen:

(a) two more bots to join the Waldorf team

or

(b) retirement of the team.

Ingo alias Waldorf

PS. But currently we are still inclined to show our best EWN.

definitly option (a)

Best would be to have four bots from four continents,

for instance one each from

\* Europe

\* North America

\* South America

\* Asia or Africa

Ingo.

PS. I think, Aussies are not really capable of programming EWN :-)

I think, your estimate is very coarse-grained.

Especially, at the end team wins will count and not match wins.

So, a 16:0 team win will be only slightly better than a 10:6;

and one 16:0 + one 8:8 will be worse than two 10:6 wins.

As Ingo said, it wasn't scheduled to be the only bot. But the idea to have only two persons in a team seems not so uninteresting. This would create more interesting combinations/teams - probably more dominating teams like the waldorf team without a player who is doing serious mistakes - more competitors with the same level. the child should be one of the least intelligent bots on this page - no idea what would happen with hanfried_c or Roro or hubbie together in a team. In this case, the waldorf team should dominate the tournamnet even a bit more. The only chance for other teams would be to have players with nearly the same level, unfortunately, there are only 4-5 humans which playing strength is nearly equal. So, the number of players should be rather reduced if there should be a chance for human teams.

@Ingo:

If you divide the last number in every row you get the expected number of team wins. The computation of this value is based on the 10 partial team results of every team.

I like to have more persons in one team. Fewer games per player and a better mix.

In the case that bot domination will become a problem I would rather vote for a pure human tournament.

Thank you. Now I understand your table - and really like it.

Thanks for doing the calculations.

So, with 1 point for both winners and losers, everyone will be a winner in this tournament. ;)

I have hope that these points are based on a mistake in the

scoring system of Little Golem, and that Richard Malaschitz

will go to repair it.
