Oski did not allow battons. If you have ever been hit with a batton you will know what one is.
Bat"ton\, n. See Batten, and Baton.

Link to the game, so we can rule out that the prohibition is not to the word but, e.g., for the use of 'BAT', which happened to be the first word, please?

I made trigons and added an s. But I wanted to make battons and add an s for that word.

The dictionary used on this site is SOWPODS I believe. The spelling in sowpods is "BATONS!"

Don't flatter SOWPODS by calling it a "dictionary". I can't even call it a "wordlist" with a straight face as that implies too strongly that everything found therein is a word.
Batton is as valid as battoon, batoon, batone, battoune, and many other variants of baton. Or even baston. All predate prescriptive English language dictionaries.
And quite why *Webster* lists a word containing a "superfluous or silent letter", I don't know, that seems counter to Noah's intentions.

By the way, "Webster's" is now a public domain name which anyone can use for their dictionary, and many do. It is not an indication of a standard dictionary or quality dictionary by any means. I once had a cheap crappy generic dictionary which was a "Webster's".
