I have to play a new game and did not follow discussions about it:

here

can someone explain it to me?

I find it frustrating to keep having to learn a new variation. I like the new variations, but I think they should also keep the older variations. Just when I think I am starting to get a grasp of the game, the game changes completely.

I noticed that Richard has a forum post with a pdf file of the rules, this new variation is explained if you scroll to the last page. I note for the record that wyps.info does not mention this new variation, yet. You can also click on Richard Malaschitz's games and see he has several numeric games in progress and you can get an idea of the game from looking at his games. I think we are all in the same boat here, new game for everyone! Good luck!

Thanks Ray for your answer and your pointers, I am a bit frustrated too despite the fact I usually like to be surprised by LG addons, I don't like so much when games I spent some effort to master, change suddenly...

I have another question, is this variant a full board one? I could only see Richard resign and no game going to the end, so I deduce he was forced to resign and it it not "full board" but I'd like to see complete rules somewhere. For example you don't have to play straight lines despite the possibility to play straights!

Is this the one where a "word" in a straight line flips all opponent stones it contains, but a crooked word flips only one? I'm also guessing there are no stop signs (i.e. a cell can be flipped more than once).

I was a victim of the zigzag being introduced in the word variant, just as I was getting used to it.
