This player seems to think that all 1500 rated platers are experts and will hurt his ranking. Too many of my games chosen from the waiting room are aborted after being matched up with this player. It is a huge waste of time.
That is... Definitely one way to think about it. I don't quite see the point of evading people who most likely are just getting into the game, and definitely pose no threat to a player who truly loves the game. At any rate, a "huge waste of time" might be an overstatement honestly. In your shoes, I would consider trying a monthly cup instead of the waiting room to get some matches.
Ok, "huge waste of time" was an overstatement as a lot of things are. I am not a good twixt player and want to learn to play with similar skill based players.
To put things into to perspective , I have completed a total of 3 games of twixt with a 2-1 record. The database shows me at 26-1 because of the aborted matches.
Another way to learn is to receive a handicap from an experienced player. LG doesn't provide them, but gamers.net/pbmserv does, as does Vassal. These are both turn based, like LG. My email is twixtfanatic@gmail.com if you are curious.
